Hi there!

I’m Adi - an accidental yogi, trail runner, and lover of words.

Quarantined-ish Day 33
Sunday, April 19, 2020 - OKC, OK

5:24am
Woke up with a tremendous amount of guilt for yesterday. We didn’t hug. We didn’t touch. We kept our distance. We were outside. We followed all of the CDC guidelines and governor’s orders and city’s orders, but still. Guilt. I don’t know if it’s that what we were doing was wrong, even within those parameters, or if it’s that we had the option and so many others don’t. Just typing out loud.

9:34am
Fell down the Medium rabbit hole. That’s not true. I jumped down the hole. As rabbit holes go, I went in looking for one answer and dug myself out with another fifteen questions.

11:30am
Another FaceTime call with a teacher. We talked a little life and a lot of business. I love this woman hard. She and I can talk about challenging things without stirring the emotional pot. We get to be practical and real at the same time.

3:27pm
After four hours of sitting on my floor surrounded by notebooks and scrap paper and post-its, trying to write curriculum from the chaos, I realize I am STILL singing Good mornin’, Good MORNin’, I try to squash it with Say Anything on in the background. Now my mind is a remix of Good Mornin’ and In Your Eyes. If COVID kills my teaching career, I’ve got DJing as a not-so-solid backup.

4:03pm
Half hour dance party and Good Mornin’ & In Your Eyes are still hanging on. Why is this the thing that I do?

7:02pm
I repositioned myself in the middle of the curriculum chaos for three more hours before publicly sharing another IJP post. The interwebs need some Pollyanna and I need a distraction from the musical madness.
