Hi there!

I’m Adi - an accidental yogi, trail runner, and lover of words.

Quarantined-ish Day 23
Thursday, April 9, 2020 - OKC, OK

12:02am
Obviously, I’m never sleeping again. Also, it’s Tom Junod’s birthday today. I sound obsessive, but really, birthdays stick in my mind, and I noticed his when I was looking up more articles a few days ago.

3:54am
Still awake. Going to bake. But not a cake. Or a coconut flake. What shall I make? Poetry at its finest, right there. Is this sleep deprivation or COVID talking?

6:02am
Pretty proud of myself for not making coffee while baking. I promised myself the reward of getting back in my PJs (a noteworthy level-up from yesterday morning) and finding just the perfect cold spot in my bed again.

6:28am
Still awake, but this coffee thing has become a challenge for me, now. Cleaning out all three emails, coffee-less, but still in PJs, squirming for the cold spots. Why would anyone ever buy a desktop?

8:31am
I am more than a little pleased with myself for waiting until now for coffee. And finally made a decent smoothie. And I’ve uploaded the back log of Isolation Journal entries from my notes to my website. This counts as work, right?

4:52pm
I’m still in my favorite Star Wars PJs that barely stay up, but it doesn’t matter because I haven’t moved from this spot on my bed. This might be the first day in all of my adulthood that I didn’t make my bed, and I’m pretty positive I’ll be stuck in this cross-legged position for life. Do they make shoes for knees? I’ve just spent the past, let’s see… eight hours and twenty-two minutes writing. Or more accurately, typing. Surely that’s some sort of record. And I don’t mean MY record. It must be global. Yep. I’ll definitely see my name in that strangely revered Guinness Book.

8:11pm
I’m pretty proud of myself for having just watched two episodes of Ozark. I mean, they were the first two, but still. I’m 5 or 6% closer to catching up with the rest of the world. Even still, I was grateful when Tiffany interrupted my two-dimensional world. It only took reading the words “can you” for me to turn it off and call her. I didn’t even care if the rest of the question was “talk for a minute” or not. She’d hooked herself into a phone call whether she wanted it or not. Fortunately, she did.

9:28pm
Have the sudden realization that I didn’t do one bit of OYC work today, but I still feel satisfied with what I did do. Going to bed before I get Adi-ish.
