quarantined-ish day 12

Quarantined-Ish Day Twelve
Sunday March 29, 2020 - OKC, OK

1:24am
Finished my midnight run a little bit ago. Lying on the bed with When Harry Met Sally on in the laptop background, not sleeping.

3:50am
Put a nuun tablet in my handheld. Ground coffee. Forgot to put grinds in the V60 filter and basically timed my water pour over. Realized my mistake and started over. Decided to put the coffee in my handheld due to lack of time. Started 4am run and the first swig reminded me that I’d put a nuun tablet in my handheld. This is why I don’t buy flavored coffee. Blueberry-Tangerine coffee is not good.

4:50am
Basically made pour overs until time to leave for the next run.

8:00am
Next four miles at Scissortail Park, followed by more coffee at Clarity. To-go, of course. Sat on the sidewalk six feet away from Johnny and Wendy as we drank our coffees and tried not to talk about COVID.

12:00pm
Next four miles from Scissortail Park, though Myriad Gardens, downtown and back to the park again, then laid on a blanket by one of their kickass sustainable reclaimed water irrigation systems while the sun burned any virus off my skin. Or it just gave me summertime tanginess.

4:00pm
Contagion came round and we made an adventure out of this segment. We walked on abandoned rails and then followed the working tracks along Automobile Alley. We wandered to old buildings, looked at architecture, and peered into the windows of closed down bars. It felt limitless and childlike. This segment is tied with the night trail run yesterday for first.

8:01pm
Next four miles out of my house and along the lake. Far less wind. Legs are surprising me with each step, and the sunset against the lake is stunning.

9:10pm
Another shower so I only have to crawl back into bed after my last round. It feels good to have focus and immediately achievable goals in the midst of this chaos. It also feels good to see the world through an old lens again.

11:59pm
Last one! In my PJs because I don’t care and it’s midnight and also I don’t care.
