quarantined-ish day 17

Quarantined-ish Day 17
Friday, April 3, 2020 - OKC, OK

5:04am
Spent an hour in the dark, my mind lit up by memories past and daydreams new. I love early mornings more than any other time of day.

6:52am
Contagion shared another post just in time to give me something to read with my coffee. He also measures time in memories? Funny how we both wrote that without a conversation about it. How is that possible? Abbey and I talked about how this collective pause button is giving us all time to dig a little deeper within - how it’s an opportunity to really shift our lenses and find a close up of what things really matter. What things deserve our attention. What things are noteworthy.
I’m grateful she took my workshop on a whim so many years back. I’m grateful she then opened a studio and let me teach one in hers. I’m grateful we’ve evolved past teacher-student, to peers to colleagues to friends. Yoga is so connective.
I’m grateful that he took the chance to ask me about yoga so long ago, and that I took the chance to ask why he burned his journals, and that he took the chance to, once again, ask me about yoga, and now I get to know him. Words are so connective.

9:25am
HIIT to pump some blood and move my legs a bit.

10:13am
One of the perks of working from home is that I actually have time to use my Vitamix. The other is that I have time to clean the smoothie from my ceiling when I don’t put the lid on all the way.
p.s. The smoothie was so undrinkably bad that I ultimately dumped it out. Maybe the third perk is that I have time to learn to make good smoothies again.

3:30pm
Switching gears to my personal website so I could get that tester post off of there from last month - a much needed five minute break to reset my brain and move my legs.

6:23pm
Orrrr…. three hours later I’ll be interrupted with a Zoom meeting from another teacher. Can you say rabbit hole? Yeah? Can you say it five times fast? Okay, fine. Can you also say corny not-really-jokes?

7:00pm
Zooming from one Zoom meeting to another, both of which we talk about Zoom. It’s meta. The BYB team had a virtual happy hour, so I really just spent the last three hours of my life on this platform. BUT I did it in my PJs, and I learned to make an Old Fashioned, so I’m winning this Zoom thing.

9:27pm
Drink is empty, phone is dead, and I think I broke the internet - or at the very least, Zoom. Night.
