quarantined-ish day 9

Quarantined-Ish Day Nine
Thursday March 26, 2020 - OKC, OK

4:03am
Edited and unedited Monday’s blog post. Again. It’s like my subconscious knows I have more free time so it’s lallygagging around just to be a shit. My subconscious needs coffee. It, along with the rest of me, also needs to do some OYC work. Thanks, COVID.

8:26am
Back to Scissortail. It turns out that if you park at Elemental and run to Scissortail Park, do all of the pathways, circle Myriad Gardens, and head back to Elemental, it’s an easy four miles. And it’s an especially easy run if you stop mid-run and write a partial blog post on your phone notes for half an hour. .

10:20am
Sit on my bed to work. It still feels like cheating, so I move to the floor. Obviously, that assuaged nothing, so I continued to play musical areas of my bedroom while cheat-working. Thanks, COVID.

1:47pm
Practiced teaching to my phone. Tested sound and lighting. This pandemic is expanding me in ways I never wanted (but very good for me). Thanks, COVID.

2:32pm
Another four miles out the front door. It was 92˚ and I couldn’t catch a full breath, but I love that I could catch a second run in the middle of the day. Thanks, COVID.

3:20pm
Mental battle with myself: OYC work vs blog writing. OYC barely won. Thanks, COVID.

5:51pm
Tried helping a friend get to YAT’s Instagram Live section to tune into my class. She accidentally IG live called me, and I accidentally answered. Still no idea how we got there. It was nice to see her face and hear her voice, though after having to postpone last week’s coffee date. Thanks, COVID.

6:15pm
Taught my very first class to MY PHONE. It’s a surprising amount of work to teach, practice, and talk at the same time. I was drenched in sweat with my air conditioner on. Also, they had lots of close ups of my alarmingly high and fuzzy ponytail, my knee, and my nostrils. So many student messages scrolling through. I miss them so damn much. Calling it a day after this. Fuck off, COVID.
