quarantined-ish day 14

Quarantined-Ish Day Fourteen
Tuesday March 31, 2020 - OKC, OK

3:56am
Beat my alarm, if you can believe that (obvious sarcasm), so I can bake things for my friend’s pregnant employee whose doc advised her to stay home. Excited to have to be someplace. Not on Zoom or Instagram Live or Facebook Live or anything pretending to be actual life, but someplace three dimensional. Of course, I’ll be the only one there, but I’ll be there in person. With a purpose. I need a purpose so I don’t take on another project or run another 54 miles the next two days.

6:34am
Popped over to the concrete mountain, otherwise known as the parking garage stairs, to further burn out my legs from the weekend.

7:48am
Spent the next four hours on my laptop and only drank one cup of coffee. Winning today.

12:00pm
Business meeting with Amber at Scissortail Park - a curious sight, with two women scrunched into opposite ends of a bench, using actual pen and paper to record notes. I’m watching the world be forced back into simpler times. And better than that, I’m watching many in the world enjoy it. It’s like that line in Eat Pray Love. Also, a 30 minute meeting took 90 because we spent the first hour catching up as humans first, and then teachers and team members. I’m also watching the world experience more true gratitude. And better than that, I’m seeing myself experience more true gratitude. A conversation with Amber any other time would have been enjoyable but not a significant moment of gratitude. Today, though, I actually let myself sink into where I was, and I’m thankful to have that feeling.

2:23pm
6.76 miles to Scissortail Park and back. My running legs are fine. Just need my lungs to catch up and stay COVID free.

5:00pm
Master Mind Zoom call AND Facebook Live, as we talk about owning a yoga business in this climate. a) I didn’t know you could Zoom AND Facebook Live simultaneously, 2) really should’ve taken a post-run shower.

8:48pm
Falling into bed and feeling like I had an almost normal weekday. Maybe this is just a newer version of my normal, but I’ll take it. Also, I just hit 200 straight days of practicing French. I’ll take that, too.
