Quarantined-Ish Day Eight

Holy quads from yesterday. They woke me up as I tried to roll over. This pandemic is either going to kill me or make me in the best shape of my life.

Tried to figure out how to turn off a friend’s Facebook notifications. No luck. I turned everyone’s off on my phone. Cut them off at the source, as they say. Whoever they is.

Is it too early to make coffee?

Made coffee.

3:58am
Stared at a blog post I wrote on Monday. Edited then unedited. Then edited then unedited. Then made more coffee. All I want to write is COVID journal entries. I’m just like everyone else.

Checked personal email for the first time this decade. That could almost be true since we’re less than three months into it, but really, it’s more like the first time this month. That spiraled me down the MailChimp rabbit hole as I followed the email’s directives on how not to have my account deactivated for lack of use. Got that worked out, scrapped the whole thing, and started a brand new account. Can COVID affect your brain and leave the rest of your body alone?

Ran a 30 minute basketweave course through Scissortail Park. Each step was excruciating. These quads are on fire (typed in my best Alicia Keys voice).

12:09pm
Drove to the pharmacy. In three miles of sitting, my legs locked up. Ran another hour to try to loosen them up.

1:53pm
Was supposed to meet Elena for morel hunting. She got stuck with work and I almost got stuck in my driver’s seat. Peeled myself out with audible grunting and ran a lap on the trails.

5:03pm
Sixty-one minute harangue from my cousin on not closing myself off from relationships. Second one this week from as many people. Maybe that should be my next blog post: not needing is different from closing off. Understandable, though. They’re working from old truths.

6:05pm
13 partial pull-ups. 6 assisted. If my legs are fucked, I might as well let the arms join the fuckery. Plus I have goals now.

7:00pm
Online yoga training. My whole life is either online or on my feet. Not ideal, but I’m grateful to have both as options.
